More New Products!~

22 Sep

So I’m still on a quest to find a mascara as good as Maybelline’s The Colossal.  I’m so close to just buying it again!  But I like trying new things and since the waterproof Lash Blast didn’t work out, I thought I would try Lash Blast Luxe… and there was a 40% off sale at Shopper’s Drug Mart so I got a few other products too!

Also, Wal-Mart had a 40% off Revlon products a few days later…

Above: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red.

Initial thoughts: I haven’t tried the mascara yet, but I know I’ll love it because it’s just like regular Lash Blast but with bits of shimmer (“black platinum” has silver shimmer).  The eyeshadow trio is really pretty, I just wanted to pick up a nice neutral palette for everyday wear so I think this will work well.  The photo above does nothing for the Annabelle gloss, it is gorgeous! This was a total impulse buy, because I was just so taken with the color. It’s a light champagne shade and it’s very shimmery. Beautiful!!  Lastly, I caved and bought the Rimmel lipstick because it seems everyone loves this “airy fairy” shade. I thought it was going to be a much more neutral shade, but it’s more of a light mauve-y pink.  Very pretty, and I like the slight cinnamon scent too!

I love the matte bronzer; it’s really hard to find a matte bronzer in the drugstore, so this is a really great find.  I use it for contouring.  The nail polish is obviously gorgeous!!  A brilliant rich red color with red sparkles.  Cherries in the Glow is a really pretty berry-bordering on red-shade, I really love Revlon’s Super Lustrous glosses.  Lastly, the matte lipstick is amazing.  It’s incredibly pigmented and the truest red shade of lipstick I’ve ever seen.

All these products are awesome!~

Products I’m Loving Right Now!~

19 Sep

These are just a few products I find myself using every day or just loving at the moment!

IMG_8239

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Polish in “Blue Me Away!”: I’m wearing this on my nails right now and it’s the ultimate look-at-me shade! So bright and gorgeous!  It goes on great and dries to a glossy finish.

Kiss My Face Peaches and Creme Moisturizer: This is my nighttime moisturizer. I apply it after washing my face before bed.  It’s really moisturizing and thick but it absorbs into my skin really quickly.  Also, it smells amazing!!  Just like the Kiss My Face line should.  It doesn’t quite smell like peaches and creme though, it’s more like peach ring candy!

IMG_8327

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad in “Chai Latte”: I find myself reaching for this quad a lot since I purchased it.  It’s very soft and blendable, and surprisingly pigmented for a drugstore shadow.  I especially love the highlight and lid colors.

Softlips Strawberry Sherbet Lip Balm: Softlips lip balm has always been a favorite product of mine.  I usually use this right before bed to keep my lips moisturized all night.  It’s very light and makes your lips incredibly soft.  The strawberry scent is lovely too.

N.Y.C. 5-Way Concealer Palette: I use the salmon-colored concealer every day to hide my under eye circles.  The only downside to this palette is that it’s a little dry, unless you apply it with your fingers.  This actually makes application a lot quicker and that’s how I use it.

N.Y.C. Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in “Rose Glow”: I have a really fair complexion and this blush is the perfect everyday shade for me.  The colors blend together to make a light peachy pink shimmery blush.  It’s perfect for creating a natural healthy glow.

Note: I started this look trying to do a neutral eye with slightly winged liner, but as I was applying the liner my hand slipped and drew a huge wing instead of a little one.  So, instead of washing it off, I decided to just go with it and smoked out the look following the shape of the liner.  My point: makeup mistakes can always be fixed! Have fun with it!~

Totally Hair Barbie / Early 90s Inspired Look

12 Jul

masl18_1992_hair

So the day before I did this dramatic liner look, I got sucked into watching about an hour of late 80s/early 90s kids commercials; and amongst the Hungry Hungry Hippos and Lite Brights was Totally Hair Barbie, a toy I’d completely forgotten about.  For those of you who don’t remember this doll from 1992, she is the best selling Barbie in Mattel history.  Totally Hair Barbie had hair down to her toes that you could style with the 5 hair accessories and the tube of Dep hair gel included with each doll! Haha.  Anyway, I think she really stuck with me, because the next day I came up with this bright pink and yellow look with Barbie pink lips:

NYC Ultra Last Lipwear: smooch

VS Beauty Rush Lip Gloss: strawberry fizz

(In case you’re wondering, I always wear Everyday Minerals (EDM) Foundation in Sandy Fair, EMD concealer, and Urban Decay Primer Potion.  I don’t include them in the “products used” because it would be too repetative!~)
